Yesterday I attended the premier of the Fashion Short Film “La casa del Dr. Redphone”, directed by Valerie Lollett, better known as Madame Fedora (because of her exquisite blog). Since the beginning I had high expectations for these piece of work, the reality is that by the reputation Madame Valerie has in the national fashion industry and the incredible photographic preview by Anibal Mestre for Complot Magazine, it was impossible not to create myself such high expectations and that is why I decided to assist this event that would also have alternative causes: all the profits made would go to the Fundación Planchart and its Residencia in Caraballeda, Vargas state for people of third age who would decide to retire. Plus, the event was held in the same place the film was shot, the Quinta El Cerrito, or Villa Planchart, the most known and emblematic house in Caracas because of its architecture (work of Gío Ponti) and decoration, ideal for the film’s concept. It would’ve been impossible to miss.
With a first quality production team and an iconic cast such as Eglantina Zingg, the story behind the film develops looking and sounding spectacularly, being about a very sad and lonely woman that arrives to a house to recover herself, the only voice she will hear comfort her and cheer her up comes from a red phone, leading to an end where “the only thing needed is a place to be found”. And it is about finding yourself. It is here where I was really into what had been created of this project , besides a spectacular styling with dreamt pieces, the concept of the message of getting to find yourself and express it through fashion is something I really identify with. It definitely reached my high expectations and even surpassed them.
I hope this Fashion Film comes out publicly soon for those who were not able to be there yesterday so that they will be able to enjoy it as well. Mean while I recommend you go see the photos from Complot Magazine so that you can enjoy a little of this incredible proposal.

Ayer asistí al estreno del Fashion Short Film La Casa del Dr. Redphone, dirigido por Valerie Lollett, mejor conocida como Madame Fedora (por su exquisito blog). Desde el principio tuve altas expectativas para este pieza de trabajo, la realidad es que según la reputación que tiene Madame Valerie en la industria de la moda nacional y la increíble previa fotográfica de Anibal Mestre para la revista Complot, era imposible no crearme tales expectativas y es por esto que decidí asistir a este evento que a demás tenía causas alternas: todos los fondos recaudados van para la Fundación Planchart y su Residencia en Caraballeda, Edo. Vargas para que personas de la tercera edad pasen ahí sus últimos años cuando decidan jubilarse. A demás el evento se llevó a cabo en el mismo sitio donde se grabó el film, la Quinta El Cerrito, o Villa Planchart, la casa más conocida y emblemática de Caracas por su espectacular arquitectura (obra de Gío Ponti) y decoración, ideal para el concepto del film. Imposible perdérselo.
Con un equipo de producción de primera y con una protagonista icónica como lo es Eglantina Zingg, la historia detrás del film se desarrolla de modo visual y auditivamente espectacular, tratando de una mujer muy triste y solitaria que llega a una casa para recuperarse, la única voz de consuelo y ánimo que escuchará será a través de un teléfono rojo, llegando al final a que “Solo se necesita un lugar para encontrarse”. Y se trata de encontrarse a sí mismo. Es aquí donde realmente me gustó a lo que habían llegado con el proyecto, pues a demás de un estilismo espectacular con piezas soñadas, el concepto del mensaje de llegar a encontrarse a través de la ropa y de expresarse a sí mismo, es algo con lo que me identifico totalmente. Definitivamente mis altas expectativas fueron alcanzadas e incluso superadas.
Espero que este Fashion Film salga más públicamente pronto para que aquellos que no tuvieron la oportunidad de estar ayer lo puedan disfrutar igualmente. Mientras tanto les recomiendo ver las fotos de Complot Magazine para que disfruten un poco de esta increíble propuesta.
